Catherine is working with Shared Assets, Enfield Council and residents to explore the future of the Joyce & Snell’s community garden as part of the estate’s overall regeneration and the wider Shaping Edmonton programme.

We are aiming to involve more people, including children and young people, in the existing community garden; develop a design brief for the future of the garden on the estate; and identify options for the best way to manage it in the long-term.

The project is funded via the Legal & General Health Equity Fund which supports place-based initiatives tackling health inequalities. In addition to providing a space for residents to grow food and learn about healthy eating, develop design skills, socialise and relax, the new and likely expanded garden will contribute to council-wide plans to improve and connect parks, trees, open spaces, routes, woodlands and watercourses across the borough for the benefit of all.
